Andrew Garfield has finally addressed his dramatic new look, and it’s fair to say that most people are fully on board.

As you may know, 42-year-old Andrew got his big break in The Social Network back in 2010, which is when he looked like this:

He kept a similar length of hair throughout the following years, notably looking like this during his time as Peter Parker in The Amazing Spider-Man films:

But in March of this year, it was evident that Andrew was trying out a new ‘do as he attended an event for his movie The Magic Faraway Tree, and his hair growth was definitely taking off:

And last month, Andrew was compared to a long-lost member of the Bee Gees when he arrived at Wimbledon with a much longer, fuller head of hair — and his beard had also caught up:

In a new interview with Entertainment Tonight, it sounds like Andrew’s new look is here to stay, with the star saying of his locks: “You know what, I got through the awkward stage, and now I’m like: ‘I’ve earned this, I’m gonna enjoy it for as long as I can handle it.’”

When asked if it’s “hard to upkeep,” he gasped: “No, no, as a guy, you’re just so much luckier.”
Andrew was sitting beside his Magic Faraway Tree costar Claire Foy in this interview, and at this point she asked him if he had an “updo of choice,” to which the actor sheepishly confessed: “I might need an intervention with this; I do a little bit of Last Samurai Tom Cruise, I do a little bit of just pulling up that bit and leaving the rest down.”

“Have we seen that?” Claire asked, and Andrew exclaimed: “No! No! It’s only been in private; it’s only been private so far.” He then admitted that the look hasn’t exactly gone down well with his loved ones, laughing: “I’ve got a lot of flak for it. I’ve had a lot of: ‘Not allowed!’ But it's Last Samurai style. I think it’s powerful.”

Needless to say, fans were keen to share their thoughts on Andrew’s new look in the TikTok comments of this interview, with the star being compared to everything from a “sexy lion” to, well, Jesus.

“he looks like a disney prince,” another comment reads, while somebody else claimed: “It’s a look that works great on him, but not on many actors.” One more wrote: “He has such luscious hair. I’d wear it long too if I were him.”
