I don't know about you, but one thing I loooove about rewatching movies is seeing all the details and dynamics I might have missed the first time around. I also notice which characters totally suck *cough* Gabrielle Union in 10 Things I Hate About You *cough*. Redditor u/Outside_Ad_424 recently asked, "Who is your pick for Worst Best Friend In Film?" Here are 18 of the most aggravating and eye-opening answers:
1. "Rhiannon in Easy A. She basically got really salty when Olive started gaining a (fake) promiscuous reputation and joined the religious club in trying to shame her out of the school. She did not deserve an apology letter in the slightest."
2. "Rocky’s friend Paulie honestly has to be one of the worst friends I’ve seen in a movie. I literally have no idea why Rocky ever kept him around. It was a completely one-sided relationship. Paulie continuously had raging outbursts at Rocky; he was jealous, rude, and the reason Rocky and Adrian lost all their money and their home. He’s just awful."
3. Lilly from The Princess Diaries is just the worst. She harshly criticized Mia any time she attempted to interact socially with anyone that wasn't her. When Mia got the makeover, Lilly was so overtly cruel and mocking that Mia tried to make herself as small as possible. When Lilly found out that Mia was in line for the throne, her immediate thought was how it could benefit her. She also said 'I thought we were done talking about that?' when Mia brought up the death of her father, which happened TWO MONTHS before the start of the film. The worst!!"
4. "Ned in Spider-Man SUCKED as a best friend. He's the exact type of 'friend' that NBA and NFL athletes hate: they no longer see their friend as a friend but as a tool for their own success. He promised he'd be discreet about Peter being Spider-Man, and then basically did everything to jeopardize Peter's secret identity. He also frothed at the mouth at being the 'guy in the chair,' wanting to be a part of this amazing journey. When Peter finally gave him the chance, he rejected it outright. Ned DEMANDED it, got it, then rejected it. WTF NED??"
5. "Freddie Fernandez in The Karate Kid. He immediately befriended Daniel, invited him to a beach party, then watched him get his ass kicked by Johnny (the bully). He talked shit about him, left him lying on the sand after he lost, and then disappeared until he was cheering on Daniel during the final competition."
6. "Cady's friends in Mean Girls were jerks once she got popular. Janis was so fucked up. Cady definitely got lost in the sauce, but Janis sent her down that path for her own vindictive reasons. Cady's true friends were the fucking mathletes until Janis and Damian came around and realized they fucked up too at the end of the movie."

10. "Nadine's friend Krista in The Edge of Seventeen. The way she handled dating Nadine's older brother was pretty horrible, given their history as friends and her firsthand knowledge of the family's complicated dynamics."
11. "Jules in My Best Friend's Wedding. She spent an entire weekend attempting to sabotage her 'best friend's' engagement and the wedding arrangement. She could have married him years before, but waited until he was engaged to suddenly decide she was in love with him."
