Andy Ward at Random House landed U.S. rights to Brothers and Sisters by Tara Westover (pictured l.) from Deneen Howell at Williams & Connolly. Westover’s second memoir reckons with the fallout from the publication of her first, Educated, about her upbringing in a survivalist Mormon family in rural Idaho. The new book traces the “battle over the past” that ensued when her family denied her version of events, per the publisher. Rights have also sold in Brazil, Canada, Denmark, the Netherlands, Spain, Sweden, and the U.K. Release is scheduled for April 2027.

Kukuwa Fraser at Flatiron won North American rights to The Great Shaking by Chibundu Onuzo—author of Sankofa, a Reese’s Book Club pick—from Duvall Osteen at UTA. The novel, set in a “dystopian future where African countries have emerged on top of the new world order,” sees a family in what was formerly England attempt to immigrate to Nigeria, per the publisher. A pub date has not been announced.

Lexy Cassola at Celadon preempted North America to Julia Fine’s Futures from Stephanie Delman at Trellis Literary Management. The novel follows “a trio of con artist sisters with mystical gifts who target a billionaire investor and his heirs for their latest scheme” but become enmeshed in the family and its dark secrets, per the publisher. A pub date has not been announced.

Lyssa Keusch at Grand Central preempted world English language rights to translator Sandra Marslund’s The Bone Tide from Liza DeBlock at Greenstone Literary. The debut thriller tells the story of a woman who is “drawn back to the remote island off the coast of Denmark that she fled as a teenager, when she inherits the cabin that ruined her life,” per the publisher. A summer 2027 release is set.

Shana Drehs at Sourcebooks Landmark acquired North American rights, at auction, in a three-book deal, to Where the Bells Still Ring by Lauren Myracle, writing as Clara Virginia White, from Molly Ker Hawn at David Higham Associates. The novel kicks off Myracle’s first adult series, comprising “warm and hopeful stories of community and connection centered in a small North Carolina town,” per the publisher. Release is set for spring 2027.

Alicia Condon at Kensington took world all-language rights to Lori Foster’s The Risqué Book Club from Mark Gottlieb at Trident Media Group. The romance sees “an interior designer and a general contractor find unexpected romance while accompanying their relatives to a risqué monthly book club,” per the agency. Publication is set for spring 2028. A follow-up, The Risqué Bookstore, was also included in the deal.

  • Namrata Tripathi at Kokila acquired North American and open market rights to Newbery Honoree Jason Reynolds’s middle grade novel The Lamplighter’s Son, comprising interconnected stories set in the same location over many years, from Elena Giovinazzo of Heirloom Literary & Media. Pub date TBA.
  • Noah Eaker at Harper picked up North American rights to Quentin Tarantino’s The Adventures of Cliff Booth, the novelization of his upcoming film with David Fincher, The Further Mis-adventures of Cliff Booth, for release in December. Tracy Fisher at William Morris Endeavor handled the deal.
  • Marilyn Kretzer at Blackstone bought world rights, at auction, to Cheer for Your Damn Self, a “narrative-driven” self-help title by reality TV star and former professional cheerleader Amber Desiree Smith, from Rebekah Von Lintel at Embolden Media Group, for an August 2028 publication.
