And after several tabloids platformed negative comments suggesting that she looked far older than her age, Millie, now 22, wound up responding multiple times.
In Jan. 2025, the Stranger Things star — who has been in the public eye since she was 11 — simply wrote on her Instagram stories: "Women grow!! Not sorry about it.” The following month, she reshared an opinion piece from British Vogue titled “No One Cares How Old You Think Millie Bobby Brown Looks” and wrote, “thank you.”
By March, Millie was naming and shaming writers of articles that had criticized her appearance, stating in an Instagram video, “The fact that adult writers are spending their time dissecting my face, my body, my choices, it’s disturbing. The fact that some of these articles are written by women? Even worse. We always talk about supporting and uplifting young women, but when the time comes, it seems easier to tear them down for clicks.”
Millie was flooded with support after calling out the critics of her appearance and style.
Fast forward to today, and several internet users are heaping praise on Millie’s latest red carpet look.
On June 25, Millie stepped out at the world premiere of her upcoming Netflix movie, Enola Holmes 3, rocking a custom blue gown made by Galia Lahav, who also designed the star’s wedding dress.
Many fans immediately gushed over Millie’s gorgeous dress and described her as a “modern-day Cinderella.” “That dress is incredible and she wears it well! The color, the style, the way it accentuates her frame, beautiful!” one person said. “That dress is incredible on her,” another user agreed.
Amid the discourse, several people expressed their admiration for Millie’s darker hair. “I'm glad to see she's back as a brunette.
