When you hear the words "celebrity scandals," you probably think about something genuinely shocking. But every once in a while, a celebrity ends up at the center of a controversy that's less jaw-dropping and more...completely absurd. So when a Reddit user recently asked, "What is the funniest celebrity scandal of all time?" people had plenty of answers. Here are some of the most upvoted responses.

1. "Dominic West in a bush after cheating rumors."

WHAT HAPPENED: After Dominic West was pictured getting close to his The Pursuit of Love co-star Lily James in 2020, paparazzi later spotted him apparently hiding in bushes during a jog to avoid photographers. You can see the picture here.
James later responded to the rumors by holding a press conference with his wife and handing photographers a handwritten note insisting their marriage was "strong." They're still together today.

2. "How you say cucumber. 🥒"

WHAT HAPPENED: In 2020, Hilaria Baldwin faced intense scrutiny after people questioned her Spanish heritage and accent. One clip in particular went viral: a Today show interview in which she appeared to forget the English word for "cucumber." Hilaria has since denied faking her identity, saying she was raised "bilingual" and tends to mix both languages, but the internet continues to poke fun at her, regardless.

WHAT HAPPENED: During a 2004 appearance on Saturday Night Live, a pre-recorded track of Ashlee Simpson, then 20, singing "Pieces of Me" came on over the music to "Autobiography." Unaware of what to do, Ashlee performed an awkward dance on stage before eventually giving up and walking away.

WHAT HAPPENED: Following his firing from Two and a Half Men, Charlie Sheen gave a chaotic interview to Good Morning America that included declarations that he was "winning," had "tiger blood," and other comments that became instant memes.

WHAT HAPPENED: After Justin Timberlake was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence in 2024, Page Six reported that he quietly told the arresting officer, "This is going to ruin the tour." When the officer reportedly asked, "What tour?" Justin replied, "The world tour." While the arrest itself was serious, the quote went viral immediately, sparking tons of memes.

6. "The Gwyneth Paltrow skiing thing was hilarious."

WHAT HAPPENED: Gwyneth Paltrow's 2023 civil trial over a 2016 ski collision became unexpectedly entertaining due to several courtroom moments. One particularly viral moment came when Gwyneth was asked about her quote, "You directly skied into my fucking back," prompting a visibly uncomfortable reaction. She ultimately won the case.
