In Season 1 we see a lot of Logan and Garrett's friendship, including some tension between them. How would you describe that emotional roller coaster?
Antonio: The relationship between Logan and Garrett is definitely a complex one. The source material paints them as inseparable brothers, which sets a high bar for developing their bond on screen. Throughout the series, their connection is tested by misunderstandings and poor communication—something anyone with a sibling or close friend can relate to. That tension is real and serves as a compelling narrative thread.
Working alongside Bel [Belmont Cameli] on this dynamic was exciting. We were focused on showcasing not only the friction between them but also the underlying love and loyalty that persists, even when things get rocky. No matter what kind of obstacles they face, it’s clear that their bond is a cornerstone of their stories.
I was watching the [no spoilers] scene in Episode 7, thinking, "Just hug it out already!"
Antonio: Right? It feels like such an obvious move, but you really see that emotional unraveling play out. We had read that scene during our chemistry tests, so we were aware of the weight it carried. When it came time to film, I wanted to embody Logan’s desperate longing for a real conversation. He’s practically shouting through his actions, “I’m here for you, just listen!” This moment encapsulates the heart of their friendship.
The anticipation for viewers to see how it all resolves is palpable. I can’t wait for everyone to see the finale and watch that tension unfold.
Did you have a personal favorite scene to film?
Antonio: A standout moment for me was the first scene that really captured the essence of Garrett and Logan's friendship. It beautifully illustrated why they’re drawn to each other: their shared love for hockey. It’s refreshing to portray characters who play for sheer passion rather than for parental approval.
This scene profoundly helps the audience understand the motivations driving each character throughout the series. That first day on set with Bel made it even more memorable; the excitement and authenticity of our performances were electrifying.
Music plays such a big role in the show, and you’re also a singer and songwriter. What is your connection to music, and do you think we will see Logan sing in the future?
Antonio: It’s like a playful twist in the narrative. Logan has this hidden talent for singing while the rest of the cast showcases their musical skills. I often felt like the odd one out, being the only one with a strong musical theater background. Watching my co-stars like Mika [Abdalla] and Ella [Bright] step into their musical roles has been a thrill; I encouraged them to embrace their talents since they clearly have it in them.
Witnessing their transformation into confident performers has been one of the highlights of filming.
My journey into performing arts started with music, deeply influenced by legends like Johnny Cash and Elvis. Those artists shaped my ear for melodies, and only recently have I begun to explore my own songwriting. Collaborating with Adam Watts, a skilled songwriter known for hits like *High School Musical*, has been enlightening. He opened my eyes to storytelling through music, encouraging me to pen down my thoughts and emotions.
Even during the off-season, I find solace at Open Jar Studios, crafting songs that reflect what I’m feeling. It’s become a therapeutic outlet that I can’t wait to share further down the line.
Finally, by the end of Season 1, what do you hope viewers take away about Logan?
Antonio: That’s an insightful question. By the season’s conclusion, I want viewers to appreciate Logan as someone who’s navigating the challenging waters of adulthood for the first time. He’s fiercely determined and loyal, embodying a work ethic that reflects his heart. However, I’m looking forward to seeing him evolve and maybe even find some joy in his journey. He’s a great character with immense potential, and I’m genuinely rooting for him as he grows.
